Happy Birthday Alex Whitman!

I cannot believe we missed it but this past Sunday, June 21st was Alex Whitman’s 25th birthday! Many of Colin’s fans–myself included–fell in love with Colin during the period of time he portrayed Alexander Charles Whitman on “Roswell”. So happy belated birthday to him! :)

Good old “Roswell” days …

On Roswell’s season 2 the character Alex Whitman, portrayed by Colin Hanks, died. The storyline with the cover-up Sweden story began in episode #212 “We Are Family”, when Alex showed his friends some pictures of his ‘pretended’ Sweden student exchange.

In a scene Alex introduced a young Swedish girl named Jennifer Coleman to his friends.

The fan site Crashdown.com, which is still open and brings news about the recent projects of cast and crew had the chance to talk to Nicole Brunner, who played Jennifer/Leanna on the show. In the Q&A with 10 questions they asked her about Colin Hanks, too:

03. In #212 We Are Family, Alex first talked about your character when a picture in the slide show appears. Did you really met Colin Hanks for a photo-shoot or is this picture photoshopped like the story line in “Roswell” later reveals?

I did have the pleasure of meeting Colin Hanks for the photo-shoot on the studio lot. He is exactly how you would think, very sweet and down to earth. I actually graduated from the same high school performing arts academy as his dad (Tom Hanks).
