After one take I was pretty sure that Bradley Whitford noticed the fine acting that was being displayed. And as it turns out, I was right. He did notice. “You were across the street”, Whitford tells me. “I wouldn’t consider yourself a great extra. My advice is less. Most people go with opposing hands when walking, but you were going with kind of a llama thing.”

I told him and Colin Hanks that I was hoping to get noticed and clearly it worked. “We’ll see if you make the final cut”, Hanks says.

As it turned out, I didn’t make the final cut on the street scene.

But Fox Anchor Bill Wixey got his big chance after one of the crew members asked him, if he wanted to change roles and become a uniformed officer and he appeared as “Officer #3″ on the show.

Rumors of an upcoming bank heist have the entire police department on high alert, scouring the city for the suspected crooks. But only Jack and Dan, relying largely on their instincts, figure out that the bank heist is actually just a decoy for a much larger robbery across town.

LOS ANGELES — Colin Hanks becomes more than Tom Hanks’ son in Fox’s “The Good Guys.”

He says his character, Jack, is a nice change from what he’s usually offered.

“So much of the stuff that I end up sort of reading for, or people want me for, is the sort of sane guy surrounded by a bunch of crazy people. And this was not necessarily that dynamic,” Hank said. “This was much more of a two-hander between two guys who are both equally flawed in very, very different ways, for very different reasons. And more importantly, Jack was the guy that spoke back. He talked back to people. It wasn’t just him reacting all the time to, ‘Why are you so crazy? Why can’t you be normal?’ Jack actually has an attitude toward Dan sometimes, and he lets Dan know when he’s not happy. I like being able to read a character that actually stood up for himself.”
